Next month we're moving into a new place, which means the joys of moving the tank. After 10 years in the Navy, I've got it mastered! I've held off on corals recently because I knew we were buying a house, but once we're settled, I want to go full speed with the reef.
With that said, I'm not too interested in taking the chance of my beautiful, healthy Emperor destroying the corals. I've had one in the past, but not willing to gamble this time.
I'd like to replace him with a comparable size healthy Naso from an established tank. Not interested in selling him.
We're scheduled to move the weekend of Oct 15th and that would be a perfect time for the switch.

How big is you Koran, Matt? He's usually pretty mellow, but he lets his tank mates know who's boss every once in a while with his grunting. Got a pic of your Naso?

how about for a blue spotted naso
It's a cool fish, but I'd rather stick with a regular Naso. They've always been one of my favorite fish. Before we moved back from Seattle last year, I gave away a large, very healthy Naso that I didn't want to risk moving.

is it going to be an even trade?
I suppose you can judge it being "even" by the size of the Naso. As far as comparing the "value" of an Emperor Angel versus a Naso Tang, I guess it has to do with personal preference. I had a very large and healthy Naso that I had to reluctantly part with last year and I'd like to get another one.
The Emperor Angel I have is an awesome fish, but I'm not willing to maintain a FOWLR just to have him.
That's my complicated answer to your simple question. :thumb:
