sometimes when sand or detritus lands on toadstools, it causes them to rot away and melt like that... make sure it's getting plenty of flow to knock stuff off of it...

Thanks for the feedback. I'll keep an eye out for stuff falling on it. I'll move it to a area with more flow.

what corals are next to the toadstool..?
I do have a very large bubble coral in front if it. But the "bites" are on the back. You think it could be the bubble coral? I've also seen the angel pecking on other corals but I thought it was getting food that had fallin on it.

My hippo tang munch on my toastool, and looks just like yours, Hippo tangs are not suppose to eat them but mine does, good luck with your suspect :)
