Bloaded stomach and fast breathing

I have a Blue Neon goby that's been in my tank for 2.5 years and I have know idea what has caused his stomach to swell up. This started after I did a major overhaul on my 24gal tank. His stomach keeps getting bigger by the day and he's very lethargic with fast breathing. He's still slowly eating, but he's been like this for the last two weeks. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you introduced anything new to the tank that could have given him parasites? If not, possibly some type of infection, maybe swim bladder swelling.

Nothing new introduced that would have caused this. Stress maybe.

my mystery wrasse had a huge stomach for about a month, so big his scales started to pop out....i treated the food with metroplex for about a week and he actually looks like hes gonna make it, his stomach is back to normal size..

For a small fish his stomach is the size as his upper body. It looks like his body doubled in size. Poor fish.

Is he scratching on rocks and sand? Maybe internal parasites that can be treated with prazipro?

I have seen him scratch. I will look into this.
