anyone know of an effective therapy or treatment? I am kidding of course but he was expensive and would do anything to get him to eat. It's been a week.

He is also panting (breathing fast), anti-social (does not play with others or its owner), sullen (just lays there under a rock), he did move a lot of sand around.

Perhaps I need to add more sand to the sand bed?

They are sand/rock dwellers... they don't really swim around. In my experience they are pretty shy and timid, almost sketchy as many have had them jump out of there tanks. If you have a busy tank with more aggressive fish it may not feel comfortable.

If its panting and not eating that is not a good sign. Mine would eat pellets, mysis, flakes, really anything that would float down by his home.

They do need quite a bit of sand, but adding some now wouldn't make a ton of difference.

I made this hotel with pvc, some elbows, and a barnacle that I puttied over the pipe. Bury the pipe and voila!
