My Local LFS has a couple blue spotted sea hares that he calls rentals...
I've gotten my params down (Nitrates and phosphates) and the hair algae doesn't seem to be growing more, but isn't going away... The main 2 rocks it's on have several corals growing on them, so I don't want to remove them from the water to scrub them off...
Would renting the sea hare for a week take care of my algae remnants? my Lawnmower doesn't even pay attention to the stuff...

Dave,

Just make sure the sea hare doesn't die off, or your params with go outta whack real fast! Again, a sea hare is just a cover up to an underlying problem. More than likely your rocks are leaching out phosphates and or nitrates and that is what is causing your algae problems. The tank doesn't get natural sunlight does it through that window in the front?

Once I killed off all the cyano, nitrates spiked to 60 and Phosphates were 0.5.
a couple water changes, some chemi-pure elite (with GFO) and Purigen, nitrates are now down to 10 and Phosphates are undetectable with the API kit.

I've also backed off on feeding... Found out that fish Lie... they say I don't feed them 5 minutes after they are fed LOL. Oh... my Clowns now eat out of my fingers!

For about an hour in the morning, if we leave the blinds on the front window open, the very front left corner get's about a 6" wide swatch of sunlight on it... Basically enough to light up my Tyree Neon green toadstool and the Kenya tree... That corner stays pretty clean though.

Ya, it is said that a fish's stomach is about the same size as it's eye. So, if that gives you any indication they don't need to eat very much!
