You can really only get a legit response if you mixed the whole package all at once. I asked a lfs earlier this week what the alk was in his newer batch and we tested it. Its was 10 alk @ 1.021-22 76 degrees. I was shocked it was the regular one also. The one that makes 300 gals. hth

Many years ago when I used the reg TM salt it would run 7-8 at 1.025 So that was shocking to me.

TMP is not as low as all the salt haters think. I read every thread on it when I can just to see the excuses people come up with to blame something going wrong in their tank.

I've been using TMP for the last 10 months. The alk is never below 8.. in fact it's usually right around 9.

Wait, wait, WAIT! From late 2010 till mid April 2011 the alk was all low. Never had alk higher than 7.0 at 1.025 at 78 Farenheit. Even the calcium was 410.

Tests for alkalinity were salifert and lamotte. Calcium was only done through elos.

After April 2011 I don't know because I got fed up testing then re testing alk every single WC and moved to IO.

Glad to hear that TMP is a more tank friendly alkalinity than the 6.5 alkalinity days.
