I was thinking about hosting a backyard frag swap/ swap meet.
I’m located in Perris CA. 92571
So if this is happening let’s get some ground rules out of the way. My number 1 rule is I will not supply alcohol and if you do decide to BYOB then please be respectful and don’t go over board. If someone has had a little to much sauce there more then welcome to hang out as long as it take for them to be safe. Me and the miss have lost family members to drunk
drivers see do not endorse it.
Second is the COVID issue. If your afraid and don’t think being around local reefs is safe for you then please stay home. I and my entire family is vaccinated. If you are not vaccinated then please wear your mask. I’m not going to be checking vac cards. So like, Disneyland we will go off the honor system. If you sick and or have tested positive please stay home. Please don’t shame the rest of use for wanting to live our life’s.
Third isn’t really a rule but more of a warning. I have 2 Siberian huskies do if you have dog allergies then this may be a problem for you.
Four isn’t a rule but more of a FYI my neighbor is HOA and we do have security so I suggest you do not park in red zones. I’ve been tickets for parking on the side of my house while we were moving in. I was there for maybe 10 min while moving cars around and security got me. I live on a corner lot and about 100feet behind my house is baseball fields with plenty of parking.
Now for the planning. I can get a few tables and chairs. I’ll try to see if I can get a large frag tank to use as a community frag tank. But if your wanting to sell and have a small frag tank or tank then I do encourage you to bring it. I should have plenty of extensions cords but if you have a lot of things like lights, pumps, heaters….. to plug in, then I suggest you bring a power strip.
I should be able to supply around 200g of salt water. So if salt water is needed it will be on a first come first serve basis.
Also for the swap meet part I was thinking if you want to bring old equipment that you would like to sell then your more then welcome. I’ll setup a table or spot for used equipment. We all know people are more in likely to purchase something that is sitting right in front of them that they can put there hands on. I just suggest you put your name and cell of a piece of tape so the buyer knows who to contact if they want to buy a piece of equipment.
Now for food, do people want to bring food like a potluck?
Or I could set up my grill and have someone cook burgers and dogs? Or maybe a taco guy?(depending on the cost and if people are willing to buy there plates)
Now we know, no one going to show up unless there’s a kick ass raffle. So I’d like to purchase some equipment and things. Maybe even some life stock. Then I’ll take the money back that I spent on raffle items from the raffle earning and all profits will be donated to a local food bank sense the holidays will be right around the corner. Does anyone have any problems with this plan?
