cleaning out my sump

Hey, my sump has some junk accumulating in the bottom now that the tank has been up a year. The sump is on the ground so getting a siphon to work is tough, any suggestions on how to clean out the sump area? almost like needing a wetvac or something like that.

Or just put a power head there. I added one on mine and really keeps it clean.

ShopVac's are the way to go. I just cleaned my sump out on Saturday. Not only did I scrape off all the crust in the main bay where my skimmer sits, but I used a wood stick and broke up all the crud in the bottom of my baffles, then duck taped a really skinny suction pipe from another home vac that fit down inside the baffle chambers. Cleaned it all out great.
