Think closed loops systems will make a comeback with the more DC pumps that come out? Previously, you'd need an energy hog pump with some sort of Ocean Motions for random flow but now with the Vectra and being able to program the different wave maker modes, is that a game changer since you won't need an ocean motions for random flow and the pump is more efficient?

I think if I had a tank that separated 2 rooms and wanted a clean look, I'd go with closed loops and schedule 80 bulkheads.

Scott's tank is setup in that fashion, but he also has MPs on the back wall and a gyre on the bracing.

He took it a step further and has the outlets for the closed loop plumbing through rock work to be completely invisible.

I think he is using the Red Dragon DC pumps for them but maybe he can confirm. pciscott

More holes, More points of failure and with my luck i'd have a bulkhead fail on me.
