Best to leave them with the parents for now. They will aerate and pick out the dead eggs. They will incubate for about 7-8 days. Once you notice that the eggs have "eyed-up" that is literally you can see the litte eyes through the corion (egg shell) it's getting close. Percs will hatch around day 7-8 in the EARLY AM (more on this later in predatory avoidance). Anyway once they eye-up then it's time to move them to their own system with a sponge filter and gentle aeration over the egg mass, wait for the magic to happen. Oh did I mention you better have a rip-roarin' copepod culture going? And to keep that going you had better have a few cultures of each: Tetraselmis sp., Nannochloropsis sp., and Isochrysis sp. Those three provide the best well-rounded nutrition available (trust me on this one...Fish 435=Mariculture). Depending on the mortality around metamorphosis (6-7 days post-hatch) which is usually around 50-90% you can start on DECAPSULATED Artemia sp. (brine shrimp) which are no more than 12 hours old. (they lose a TON of nutritional value after that time). ANYWAY once you get your hatch past meta you should be sitting pretty. And oh yeah they won't look ANYTHING like a clown until AFTER meta and won't really develop stripes until LONG after that. Sorry about the rant. I've been-there-done-that professionally/academically (YAY fisheries biology) and I could go into it into MUCH more detail. Good luck and remember it's the journey, not the destination that matters (you'll understand when you live through it). Good luck and if you need any help PM me.
