so one of my paired clown fish decided to commited sucide and jump the tank when i wasn't home, now the other seems sad and lonely, i want to replace the one that died, how would i go about paring it up with the one I already have? Will it be a hit or miss?

it was the small one that die, i thought they said if it's a pair the bigger one is the male and the smaller one is a female...

The larger of the pair is almost always going to be female.

Ok so i bought a new small true percs to replace the one that commited sucide, the bigger one keep on chasing it so i decided to take both of them out into a smaller 3 gallon tank. They are getting along fine now, the question is how long should i leave them in the 3 galon tank until i re-introduce them back to my main display tank?

could take a couple of hours or a few days...if they aren't fighting then they're paired
