I have a clownfish (orange and white occ) that is in the tank at my office, every time I stick my hand in the tank he attacks viciously. the other clown just checks it out. My other clowns at home don't do this, is this normal? He drew blood the other day.

i was just about to make a thread saying that my clownfish is an a-hole...

he's alone in the tank, and everytime i get near the tank, he dogs me out... stick my finger in there, and he chases it... when i'm moving a rock or scraping the glass, he goes in for a couple of bites... it hurts... LOL...

but i think it's cute... he's a gorgeous grade A davinci... he does what he wants...

mine is a normal O & W occ clown. He was banished to G-Bay (sump) for 4 months before I took him to the office...now he might get a royal flush. but my wife loves him, and frankly I fear her...what to do..."oh honey, he jumped....it is so sad" yeah, that sounds like a plan.

why flush him...? i like the perkiness in clowns... it gives them personality and attitude... without it, they're just boring fish...

Lol I don't mind the aggression, but for me it's come to the point that I hate going in my tank lol paaaaaainfullllllll. Mine literally grab on with their mouths and shake back and forth till the get a chunk of skin.

Most clowns when they are paired up they often become aggressive. And if you give them a nem, if they host of course, they tend to be even more aggressive. The female is in charge, so she is very aggressive.

At 1 point I have a female clown fish and she would nip me when I put my hand near the nem. That startled me a few times. I dropped frags a few times with that surprise. I am the boss, so that kind of disrespectful behavior is not accepted. So I chased the Sh...t out of her like a shark attacks nemo's mom. So every time I needed to put the hand in the tank, I would chase her off first then she just stayed in the hiding place while I was doing the work I needed to. I gave that fish away 1 day when a buddy complained he could not get his clowns to host :)
