Could my yo test kit be bad? (Pictures)

So I was testing the water on my 120 that is cycling and since I had it out I decided to test the water on my 50 gallon. I hardly ever test it (been months) my skimmer is working great and I preform strict Water changes every week! All fish seem healthy and active. so I'm wondering if this reading is off,I don't see how my nitrates could be this high. It's an api test kit

It could be, how are the corals doing? (if you have any in that tank). You can always take it to your lfs and ask for a water test, they're usually free, if they don't match then you'll know haha,

Corals all seem to be doing fine with the exception of my torch.

Hmmm 80 ppm is probably high enough to make that torch feel uncomfortable, I say you get your water checked at the store bro.
Have you checked the pH also and salinity?

Haven't checked ph, but salinity is good.

Yeah bro check That pH and if that's good then the test might be correct but try to get a second test just to be sure

API NO3 tests are notoriously inaccurate. I'd suggest getting another kit or calibrating the API kit.
