Cryptic zone for filtration. Anyone utilize one?

I have a sump area 4 inch x 26 x 16 tall. Flow will be gravity fed. I plan on having a 4 or 5 inch deep sand bed. Not sure on type of sand yet. Just a place for sponges and filter feeders to grow

Hello,
I have set up the perimeter of my sump/refugium as a cryptic zone. I built pump stands that work as a pump stand, cryptic zone, and ATS. My Led light lites up a 24" x 22" area leaving areas behind and below pump stands dark with heavy adjustable disfused flow. Once my system is running i will add different sponges to chart information.
