My tank is about 8 months old. I've had it for about 3 months. The orange linckia has been in the tank for about 6 months. My parameters have all been stable including SG of 1.024-1.025, pH ranging 7.8-8.3 depending on the time of day (I know its a bit low, but its been like that the who time), no nitrite or nitrate and everything else normal. I change the water every week. I have a lot of polyps with a few lps and sps that are small and 2 clownfish, a scarlet skunk shrimp and a few snails.

My orange linckia is slowly disintigrating. At first it was only 2 arms, but now all seem to be affected. The only new thing I've done recently is supplemented a little strontium, trace elements and iodine at the LFS recommendation (of course). My questions are:
1. Is there any hope?
2. Should I remove it to save the other inhabitants?

I don't think it is a starvation thing because I read it takes months for that to happen and this literally occurred over a few days. The biggest problem I read about was osmotic shock. But my SG has been incredibly stable. I check it almost every day. It was either the strontium/trace elements/iodine I added (which was less than what was recommended) or some unknown factor. It is kind of sad though because of all the stuff in my tank, the starfish is the most popular with the kids.

I'm letting it hang on for a few days because even though it looks terrible, it is still moving around on the glass and back wall pretty well.

I was in Seaside the other day and noticed all their orange Linkas looked like something was eating them. Arms gooey and falling off.
