DIY coral carrier

Pretty easy clean build. Cost less than 15 bucks and takes less than 15 min to assemble

what you need is a container with a clear lid! the one i chose was pyrex 6cup container (about 7$ at target) http://www.amazon.com/Pyrex-Clear-6...=1432056240&sr=8-8&keywords=pyrex+no+leak+lid
egg crate, zip ties, and 1/2" pvc piping.

cut the egg crate to fit. for this container its 8x11 crate cubes

I dont know what plastic egg crate is made of so i cannot state if it is poisonous or safe to use, but I really will only be using this container for meetings which generally are 2-4 hours, so i am not to worried about the leaching effects. I will say though that i had the same pieces others had mine were open and theirs weren't.

it's a really great setup, especially when you're dealing with communal frag tank like club meets. your coral will be in water that they're acclimated to, and there's no risk of getting contaminated by other corals. really great if it meets your space requirements.

probably not so great if you're doing bigger pieces of SPS though.. >_<

Tongs, and a really small bag, with a really small amount of water from the container.

This is how the grow out polyps were sold at the meeting a few months back.
