Get the spectra pure. It's a fully functional unit. You can get filters anywhere as they are standard canisters. It'll be less of a pain to maintain.

It's still cheaper getting from aquatic life even if I buy the DI separately. Spectra pure has so many taxes plus expensive shipping.

You guys are pinching penny's on what amounts to probably THE most important component of a reef system.

buy the most you can afford, not the other way around.

Spectrapure and Aquaticlife are both good brands BTW, but not a fan of those horizontal filters (unless your water needs are extremely low)

I recently bought one from http://www.airwaterice.com/category/1/
Haven't installed it yet, so I can't really vouch for it. However, they answered a lot of my questions and offer lifetime warranty on parts.
I opted for an additional membrane which according to them would make the unit much more efficient roughly 2:1.

I'm only going to use about 100g the first time then dwindle down to 30g a month.

Just a few questions how long is the breaking period? It seems I made a gallon super fast in about 10-15 minutes. I also heard you shouldn't use the first 5g of RO/DI.
Also is it normal for my faucet to leak due to pressure?
The pressure from the system is 60-61psi
