Hey all I’m trying to free up some space in my garage.

Ive got some dead rock and a 100g stock tank I used to cycle a scape. No leakes worked great. No cherry picking take tank and rock both.

Also have a
6g bow front UNS with hob filter
20L
5g

couple bags of live sand

I’d like them picked up soon but that said participating members take priority aka build threads, discussion threads ect.

thanks,

pick up in Garden Grove 92845. You’ll probably need a truck. Shoot me a PM with a cell number. I getting too many notifications from here so I have them turned off.

Yeah but it was a combo of things. We got heavy winds while I was on vacation and somehow my pool got super jacked up. Like couldn’t see the bottom green alligator swamp looking bad. I ran my filter 24/7 and nuked it, every 3rd day my filter would be clogged and I’d have to tear down and clean it.

so long story not so short I had a 2000w pump running for 2-3 weeks for the pool, 55g water mixing doing wc on my tank to correct heavy metals, wife was running our central heat at night (electric) and that bin with rock just cycling open top in my garage.
Haven’t seen the bill yet but it had like a $800 something projected estimate for billing period

Let me know if it falls through. I can definitely use the rock and tub to cycle some rocks.

but damn, you need to balance your pool water. I do my own pool, and it’s just like a fish tank, the water balance is important and there is a secret tip to keep your tank clear. Add boric acid. And cynuric acid to 70ppm. That helps a lot. I used to get algae, but after making some changes…crystal clear. You don’t need all that pump. If it is green, you have to shock it with powder chlorine 10 ppm for a few days. Then just let it run through your normal pool filter. If you need help with the pool, I’ll walk you through it.

bring Total alkalinity to 90ppm, chlorine to 4-5ppm, add boric acid to 50ppm, cyanuric acid to 70ppm, pH to 7.3.

Dang missed it, that stock tank would have been perfect for my kids new pool.
Start looking now on Amazon for the deals. As it gets closer to Summer the prices go up quick. Got me an Intex complete for under $300. 5x8x24”with filter. Feels great after doing the yards. Have space on my patio so I don’t kill my yard Breaks down easily and fits in a large tote for storage. For fun I just checked, $205 delivered by next Friday.

What test kits are you using?

I did shock it several times. the die off was just so gnarly my PSI on the filter was spiking every few days causing my suction pull vac to stop running, so I'd have to break it down and clean it.

It's clearer than ever now but I do need to get some better test equipment. I've just been monitoring chlorine so far.

Also, how many hours a day do you run your pump?

Taylor K-2006C test kit.

The hours you run your pool pump is ~1hr per 10 degrees in temp. So if in the summer, I run the pool pump for 8-9 hours. If winter, I’m running it 6-7 hours. I do have a salt pool, so it’s a little different maintenance between salt vs non-salt.

If your algae was that thick, yeah then you really let it go. Haha. If it was just turning green, it wouldn’t be that bad.
