Nips at sps polyps so has to go. Didn’t last long enough to see if he ate aiptasia. Free 92845. I’d suggest fish only with this one.

thanks

Matt
Pmed.

Does it go after softies or LPS?

I have both and didn’t notice. He’s very brazen, so easy to catch but it would be a gamble 100%

About 2” in size.

i highly recommend a roaops butterfly if you want an aiptasia eater that's more likely to be reef safe than not, especially with sps. the issue with them is they're kinda expensive (burgessi you can find for maybe 100-200 if you get lucky) and they'd prefer a bit cooler water since they're deepwater. and burgess is kinda dull looking if you want vibrant colors

roa and prognathodes are similar, but they're even deeper, sometimes uglier looking at you aculeatus, and more expensive. You’d probably really want to keep temp at like 74 or below for them. Roaops maybe a tinge warmer like 76-77

or just one of those hideous little aiptasia eating filefish

Thanks Matt. I've only got a couple of aiptasia here and there. I've just gone full lazy ass reefer and haven't dealt with them manually. I'll look into those types just to see what they are. I'd be hesitant to keep a cooler water fish, specially running halide. My current low is 77 but I've been thinking of dropping down to 75 ish. High is around 80 on warmer days. This year is kind of a trip, I haven't ran my AC yet it's been so cool.

I kinda of dig those aiptasia eating file fish. So ugly they are interesting and different from everything else in the tank. I haven't had luck with them. The bright side is that klein looks somewhat tang like in shape and color but after a week in acclimation there was no aggression shown towards him. Gives me some hope I could potentially add a few fish sometime in the future. I thought for sure I was done but a couple day acclimation I've attempted prior must not have been enough.
