So, we finally moved into the new house and I wanted to start a thread with the garage sump build. This house has a lot more space than our previous one and, I get a "man cave" that happens to be right next to the garage. I also had a solar power system installed on this house so bye-bye electricity bills.

The first thing I did was get a large sump that I can expand with over time or, just use for extra water volume. I also want everything that makes noise to be in the garage. Someone here pointed me in the right direction and I was able to get the size I wanted(42x29x28). I had a hole cut in the drywall to accommodate the plumbing as well.

Along the way though the water level controller on my skimmer broke so, I think I want something better. I'm thinking about an ATB or BK skimmer. If anyone has any recommendations for either, please let me know. I may expand with a frag tank down the road so, I want something oversized.

As for the tank, I took the halides out of the canopy to make room for a T5 fixture. I still have 2 48" T5's in the lid of the canopy and I think I am going to leave the Hydra 26 in there as well for that LED pop. I may add a 52 if the coverage is weird with just the 26. I loved the halides but, hated the heat. The man cave doesnt have the best air circulation and I want to avoid turning it into a sauna.

I'm going to redo the plumbing this weekend and hopefully get water back in the tank. Check out the neighbor I found at the entrance to my driveway on the first night there. At least its free pest control...
