Ghetto DIY 2nd calcium reactor chamber?

well i just picked up a used GO 618 and i <3 it. however it is lowering my pH considerably, and i am thinking about how to get a 2nd media chamber. after this purchase, lets just say that i am grounded, 5.56wife say i can't spend any more money.. I do have some spare media and i am coming up with all sorts of ideas involving soda bottles, empty coffee cans or possibly a TLF phosban reactor. has anyone done anything like this successfully?

an extra ro/di chamber works well for $20, if you are thinking more ghetto a capped piece of 2" pvc with a union on one end and tapped holes would also work

what PH are you running the reactor@, it is odd to lower the PH that much???

pH of the effluent is ~6.5 it only lowers the tank by about 0.10 but I use kalkwasser to even out my tank pH, used to be I kept it at 8.15 but that was filling too much top off, now i have my set-point at 8.00.
