Interested in getting one or possibly a haddoni but I heard those eat a lot of fish

I know finding a healthy one is quite hard and pricey but the cheaper ones you would have to treat for a bit and that doesn't guarantee it either

I just wanna know peoples experience with it in a mixed reef and with a well stocked tank
Also on how to keep them in place, I've only had Bubble tips and never any good luck with them as they always move
Seems like they have really large foot so I'm not sure how Id go about find a spot for it

Please share your experiences or thoughts

My Haddoni ate some of my fav fish so I now just keep damsels and clownfish. Carpet nems are sticky and are underwater death traps! It’s not a matter of if they eat fish but when. Don’t do it - species-only.

Carpet nems like to move around until they’re happy - oh they need sand! My red Haddoni withered away w/o sand so now I only have 2 blue ones.

My old 175g setup with Haddonis

What I have noticed with Gigs is that they tend to stay put if you establish a good perimeter using strategically placed rocks around them. If they aren't getting enough light they will travel up the rock. Ours have stayed put on the sand bed because they are getting approximately 300 par down there, along with decent flow.

I agree, as long as the placement makes the Gig happy they tend to stay in the same place. They ove heavy light and flow. Mines siting at around 320 par and gets a ton of flow. It hasn’t moved in about a year and a half since adding it to the tank.

They do get big though. Mine started maybe 6” across and now it’s probably 15”. I don’t feed it directly but it does get food from the water column. I’m debating dedicating a new tank just for her and maybe trying to pickup a blue Gig too.

Probably my favorite thing in my tank with my true wild Percs.
