I'm debating between the Sca-301 or the Sca-302.... the 301 is rated for up to 65 gallons and the 302 is rated up to 180... but my total water volume is like 90-100
Definitely the 302 then. My tank is about 100 gallons total water volume and I run a skimmer rated for 180. I had one for 100 and it never pulled out the gunk this one does...
I'm sure Socal Tropical and Coral Gazers both have it. Contact them to make sure though. Also, as mentioned above, you can do MD will call, but that can be a pain as they make you call 2 hours in advance and then usually wait even more when you get there. Plus, I much prefer to support the LFS over the big guys....
I am using the Clear FX Pro which is basically the same thing and its not really doing much in my opinion. But I'm lazy so no reactors right now for me...
No reactors for me either, where do you have it placed at Cody? I was planning on putting it in between the baffles in my sump, right in front of the mj1200 mod I use to keep the detritus suspended...

Where my drain enters the sump near my protein skimme. According to the manufacturer its should be after your other filtration in an area of higher flow. Best I could do. Baffles sounds fine but mine are thin and I can't really wedge anything between them.
I was happy it definitely helped with phosphates and with the Cyano....
My phosphates were getting high and this helped scale them back and let me get the tank back under control...
I actually took it out about a week or 2 ago and need to get a new one

I was thinking right under the drain, too, but then you mentioned they suggested right before the return pump, so I think if it fits between the baffles, which are about 2-3" apart and I only have one, that could be the ideal spot....
