glenn,

What salinity and temperatures are you running? I think I read before you run at 33ppt and 25C...is this correct? That is like 1.023 sg for salinity. That's counter to what a lot of people say 1.026 sg.

Correct.
I followed my own path when reefkeeping and developed my methodology base on my own experiences. It may differ from mainstream beliefs and customs.
The reason i choose 33ppt is to stay clear from 36ppt, which I believe few corals don't appreciate. Call it "my safety margin"

Glenn, wow, that reef has really grown! I'm always amazed at how easy you make growing corals look. I hope to catch up a fraction some day.

I see you run ozone too. Do you run it 24/7 and controlled with orp? At what orp level do you stop? Or do you just run a few hours at night to only polish the water? Thanks for the knowledge!

I have several tanks each with it's own "theme".
Over time the equipment and occupation has changed (minimized) due to evolving knowledge.

The Treef1200 is now (since 2021) only running on a powerfilter and a 39W UV STERILIZER.
No skimmer, No ozone.

I am using a totalreefcare on one dosingchannel to make it work.

Well done. I love a grown out, mature reef. Running on a powerfilter and UV sterilizer? Your minimalism is inspiring.

I am always trying to push the boundaries and share my findings with the reefing community.
Hope to inspire others and make the hobby more efficient/affordable.

i can understand you wanting to leave the blue lights on all day. But do the corals agree with that?

Looking great! I really like both in the first pic, especially that smoothie.

I would not want to be in a SPS grow-out contest with you. LOL.

Glenn,

I have to ask. With the popularity of Moonshiners and other ICP individual element dosing programs in the USA, I see your DSR only concentrate on a few elements. Example: I don't see vanadium or rubidium in DSR, so do you even measure it or is it even important to grow corals? I see your corals are growing like crazy and you don't do water changes, so do you supplement these other trace elements? Or is DSR also doing ICP and dosing all of these elements as well? Are we in US doing too much elements and it is not necessary? Thanks for your feedback.

I have been doing this since 2012 the same way.
So why change it?
It seems to be popular to go with the hype. So my advice is keep it simple , that is what I do.

No, I don't use ICP to track all those elements not included in my syaten. I hope this clarify it for you.

Still doing same routines and no additional elements
