hello, thanks for all the replies. i was thinking about getting a phosban reactor for a while now. there are a couple of things holding me back, 1) another pump, more watts added to the system and 2) heat from the pump. i have a couple os weeks off and will be looking to do something.

thanks again,
john

When doing water changes siphon out as much of the problem algae as possible. Test your water, the algae thrives off excessive nutrients in your system. Also if you have a sump throw some chaeto or macro algae in there to help export the nutrients.

thanks mark, i have a fuge with some chaeto. i also run a skimmer that hardly pulls anything, maybe 1/4 in. in the cup in 4days. i feed once or twice a day, and all the food is gone in a minute or less. the hair is starting to break off and filling my sock up lately, so maybe things are looking up. thanks again for all the help and i will keep you informed.
