hi again. help with another ID.

because of my previous post, i have been turning over& inspecting every single piece of live rock, coral & frag, searching for those nudis, so far nothing. now i find this guy & i have no clue where the heck he came from. found him under a frag plug & noticed that once i flipped it over & was exposed to light, he moved towards shade. the stronger the light, the faster he moved towards a shadowy area. i put him in a container, in a dark area of my sump. anyone have a clue? thx!

from the pic, you can see its a starfish. i'm just wondering, is he reef safe?

What color is it? Red? It doesn't look like an asterina and most of the time they are fine they just don't last long in aquariums.

It's hard to see with Schnitzelvison being on but if it's brown/beige it looks like it could be a sand sifter star...which is fine

It's fine. Most starfish are reef safe. Just watch him. Might come out at night. I'd keep him

thx all! the base color of its body is brownish purple & has blotches of something like lavender & tiny reddish dots. i will let him loose. see what happens. thx again.
