How are you keeping your tanks cooled

Corals comes from places where the water temp is routinely 78-82 degrees if not higher. So don’t freak out if it reaches 85 degrees because the exporters say that’s how hot it gets at their boxing warehouses.

With that said I use an inkbird to turn on the cooling aquarium fan that’s mounted across the top of the tank to turn on at 82 degrees and turn off at 77.

AC is always at 78 degrees. But lights and pumps would naturally add temps up to 85 degrees. The fans evaporate the water like crazy so an ATO replenishes often. They do cool the temps down about 3-5 degrees.

I’m going to install a chiller to ensure it doesn’t get above 83 degrees as a fail safe.

But I think an aqua fan is the most power efficient way to cool it down a few degrees.
