how do you aclimate?

hello to all, i was thinking about setting the new fish in a pitcher or large bowl and placing that into a bucket. then i would start with a drops of my water and continue to a steady stream. has anybody done something like this? i have done it the tradinational way but i plan on getting a blond naso and want to treat her as good as possible.
