30K over how long of a period? Your question is interesting which reminds me of a financial adviser's calculation. He was showing us how much money you can save if you pack lunches and breakfasts....drink free coffee at work instead of StarBuck......Just the simple things could save you million dollars....over your life time span.
If you put down 30K 1 shot, then man that hurts. If you pay here 100 bucks, there 200 bucks....over 10 years to come up with 30K, then it is not even close to the value of the 30K at once and I have not added inflation to the equation yet.
Moreover, the way I see it, if you don't throw the money to the fish/reef pile, you will find a different pile to throw that money at ...hopefully not coke and something damaging long term....

but if it isn't the reef, or the plants... it's something else... i have too many interest and not enough money... LOL...
10 years, 25 K ? + ? Yes it's a hobby, I asked other reefers why they thought it was so addicting. One of the answers really made sense at the time. It's about collecting like be any babies, coins whatever ! I am a recovering addict 18 + years ( THANKS NA ) So it can get a little sketchy for me sometimes
