How to lower Alk

Currently my Ca is at 410 and my Alk is at 13.3 dkh. What can I do to lower my alk. I'm not even sure how it got so how.

I'll do a wc tomorrow. Here are the rest of my parameters.

pH: 8.4
Mag: 1260
dKH: 13.3
Ca: 410

I use RO water.

The last time my alk was that low, my SPS bleached. If your corals are OK, I'd just let the alk drop naturally. Otherwise, I'd do a water change.

Thanks for all the info guys. I'll do a wc. Tonight and test it again in a day or so.

Rukis I'll check out tropic marin.

I always prefer the natural way, if you change it too suddenly, even to ideal parameters your corals can react negatively.

Start testing your new make up water. If you start at 9 and had 9 how's it gonna go up unless your adding alk without testing.

If your adding kalkwasser lessen the strength, if your adding soda ash lessen the ml per day.

waterchange. i have tried the tropic marin alca balance and it didnt seem to work. phosphate binder worked. i dont buffer for ph anymore. seems to stay right at 8.1 with normal water changes and i dose 2 part which helps keep the ph stable.
