I have fishes and cleaner shrimps that eat like Pigs. Whenever I put food on my acantho / torch / scoly, these pigs come and eat it :(
I love watching Acantho and Scoly feeding response, but those fishes fking annoying. Do you guys have any tip?

Thank you,

If you have a bigger tank it’s a little easier to distract the fish, I always just throw food on one side (opposite of coral I’m trying to feed), then quickly feed it with a turkey baster and then go back and feed the fish. It does get hard tho since my wrasses have learned my tricks :devilish:, so I also just push them out of the way when they get near the corals

Feed corals at night when they're looking for food. Otherwise, I don't think it's necessary to feed photosynthetic corals if you have fish and are feeding them throughout the day. Certain LPS can benefit from feeding once or twice a week, but I've never been one to go out of my way to feed them. I also feed about 6 times a day minimum.

thanks everyone, i'm gonna feed at night and forget it :(. Another question is when fishes come to steal the food on the body of acantho, is it gonna damage the tissue? I have a beautiful acantho, don't want it to get much stress / infected.

I like to feed my corals at night. My wrasses are pigs and are sound asleep in the sandbed when I do feed my corals. In my experience, fish that have eaten close to coral or the food on coral usually don't nip on the coral when trying to get the food
