Not bite marks. My guess is high calcium and perhaps a swing in alk. Try to break a tip off to see if it feels brittle. Looks like a smooth skin acro also so could be the effect of strong dipping.

I have had a gorilla crab and I found out because he destroyed acros! This looks like what I have been battling for the past month! Three of my acros are loosing pe and color is fading away, I couldn't figure it out. Until yesterday I hit them with some flow and collected anything that came off so I can examine closer. I'll post pics of what I collected in a min. Moral of the story, they were attached to the acros and I couldn't even see them!

picture was taken before the dip ...
What are you dipping in? Interesting that could be caused by dipping. I never though of that. I always inspect before dip for critters and bite marks. Then I dip in a strong coral RX for 2 minutes with blasting with a turkey baster. This way I see if I'm dealing with anything right off the bat. From there its straight to the Saw where I cut it off the plug and then it goes into a 11 min Bayer dip, then into QT tank. One thing about Bayer is that I have found it to be less stressful on acros. Once I left a colony of Orange passion in the dip by accident for at least an hour. I was so mad, a buddy added in the other we had in Bayer. I put 3 colonies in and took 3 out. Good news is it's doing great. I'm definetley a fan of Bayer

Guys take a closer look. Looks like something is on it and not bite marks

That is it's guts(Mesenterial filaments). I see acros do this all the time from stress of travel or even after dips. The second Acro does look weird but can you not see those spots under tank lighting? Acros show different shaded spots under room lighting that you would normally notice under regular(tank) lights. Hope that makes sense lol.
