Somewhere in the range of 200 of us bought this pump. Some, namely a disgruntled hobbit, say this pump is no good. I happen to disagree but maybe I'm the exception. I think there's definitely greater chance of some pumps being lame since QC standards when you're paying $100 for a pump fall by the wayside but is the issue as big as Cody's head or is it really a small number that were defective?

It seems like most with WP pumps are happy with them...I would expect the same with the DCs but let's settle the debate.

I think it's typical Chinese factory economics. Pumps can be from the same factory and spec'd identically but u pay for QC and stricter tolerances. U might get the same quality pump as the reef octo or u may get a piece of crap. Also just because it came from the same factory doesn't mean the parts were sourced from the same places. My wp-25 has crappy magnets in the motor and seems a little swollen. My cd pump works fine but isn't dead silent as others are. But they both still work and were dirt cheap

Price definitely factors in for me. I shop based on value rather than cost. To me the Jebaos provide greater value for your dollar than a name brand. Although if you get a crappy one then I guess that's a moot point.

Mine works great on my mixing station. After reading about a few bad apples, I decided it wouldn't be smart to have a new unproven pump as my main return pump.

I've also read that some people are noticing that the flow isn't what Jebao claims it to be.

For a budget minded reefer, I think it's a good bang for your buck. If you have expensive fish and/or corals, I don't think it's worth the risk. Better off getting a proven pump. That's my 2 cents

Bump!

Jebao lovers are winning if we don't count those that just needed to vote to feel included. Somewhere in the range of 100 of these pumps were purchased...c'mon people!

I don't REALLY like it. But it does put the water from my sump into my DT. It is definitely not spitting out near the rated GPH. But it's quiet, it works and it was cheap!
