I use Microsoft Office picture manager to re-size my pictures.
How long have you had the different SPS colonies growing?

I started with my first sps from the scmas frag swap last year Jan 2010. Took alot of advise, some trial and error. I've lost some along the way and this is what I've ended up with.

Btw. Did someone do something to the pics? It kinda looks better...

Thanks bud, still getting the hang of it... Actually, the tank is a mess, I just moved to this area in Aug 2010. Alot of stuff got broken and the whole thing just would not fit together the way it was before. i will try to find pics of the old rockscape, pretty similar layout, just not as clean and tight as before.

here's some more pics...

this is my fav shot bec of the layers...

Dang! How do I learn how to do that?
You will learn in time. I still learn stuff everyday. Sweet tank though, what kind of lighting are you using, as you have a ton of purple and pink in the photos. It's reminds me of a tank running a couple of VHO bulbs. If you toned down the purple and made it more blue and white, your picture would improve tremendously as the camera can take blue out of the picture using the WB setting. I believe they they don't have a setting for other colors such as pinks and purples. Most manufacturers include the WB setting for the blue spectrum because the blue of the sky can affect pictures as well as fluorescent lighting. Nontheless sweet pictures man, keep shooting.

Thanks all for the compliments and advise...
here's the specs:
40g aga leemar that I bought used from another reefer corner overflow single return.
Using mp10 and ehiem return for flow, there's a temporary canister filter I put in after the move.
Have a small sump with lr. Vertex IN100 and a phosban reactor, also run carbon/chemipure when I remember.
DA RK2 controls everything like lights/fans/heaters/some pumps for feeding (tried out the Elite model but can never figure out how to program, I think 1 of the pc4 is dead)
I dose kalk in the top off(jbj) also 2 part about 30-50ml a day(is that too much?)
Prodibio bioptim/biodigest (every other week)
Iodine/amino/coral food (every 4 days)
Mag added every water change (about 10gal every 2 weeks w/RODI and D+D salt)
Lighting is current 6x39 T5 ( 3 or 4 actinic+, 1 blue+ 1coral waveand or 1fiji purp)

PH is usualy 8.3
CA is over 400-420 (i cant get it higher for some reason)
ALK is 9dkh
Mag 1350-1400
po4 is less than 0.02 (hanna photometer not the hand held)
I forget where salinity is, but i usually run higher than norm...(whateva that is)

Hope this helps, let me know if something doesn't make sense or if anyone has some advise that may help out.

I have to verify, but you're right, I do have alot of Geiss actinic+ and only have 1 Geiss blue+, the rest i think is a fiji purp and/or coral wave.

What do you think would be best setup for growth and coral color (i don't care much about the pictures right now, just the growth and color)

Thanks!

well just a heads up but actinic bulbs have very little PAR, so if you replace them with maybe ATI BLUE+ you can keep the actinic look but have a huge PAR boost. ATI Puprle + has the same amount of PAR as the blue+. click below for more par info.

Ya, Chris is right... I have a 6 bulb T5 configuration. Mine is as follows...

Front to back:

ATI Blue +
ATI Blue +
KZ Fiji Purple
Giesemann Blue +
Giesemann Blue +
ATI Blue +

I mainly collect LPS corals, but I do have two SPS pieces and 5 montiporas. The color rendition is awesome throughout and having only actinic/Blue+ bulbs and adding the Fiji Purple was a great way to neutralize so much blue. The Fiji Purple really gives the reds and violets color pop.

I am not looking at maybe going with Two LED panels, or one 27" long LED panel with 460nm LEDs, to get the colors to pop as much as possible, yet still get some decent growth.
