Well I'm starting a hype thread. (wink,wink)
So Maxspect is bringing out a new brand of lighting. That looks to compete in the high end of aquarium lighting. I'm not sure of what the price point is yet. But we can only imagine it shouldn't have a ecotech price tag (again I'm not sure so don't quote me).
Here is a video of Howard from Maxspect

I love that they're using warm whites instead of individual red diodes. However, the Razor always looked really purple because of the mix with warm/neutral whites and royal blue. I wish they would add some cyan to alleviate that problem. But the color mixing looks good though.

Looking forward to this coming out. Eric, you got the Maxspect connection, get on the beta program!!

Looks very interesting. I am curious on what exact spectrum LEDs are included. Howard said the whole range from 400-500. He also said this was a full blue spectrum. Are there going to be different models other than nano and full size....release is holiday season. The video was 2015 macna right? So are they a year late on delivery?

That's awesome! Looks like they're using a combination of warm whites and cool whites, which is a step in the right direction.

I'm really curious about PAR values with this fixture because they don't have secondary optics, just reflectors, from what I've seen online. My ATI hybrid had some really good aluminum reflectors that spread the light evenly, but the LEDs were more concentrated. I've only seen the PAR video from the tank that was 18" in height.

So from what I have read online reviews about the light is with the reflectors and not using lenses is that the reflector reduce the disco effect that come with most led units.

Good to see they got it also controllable by IOS. I saw them at RAP Orlando and they said that is what they were waiting for. I definitely felt it was one of the nicest looking lights on the market.

I've been messaging Quentin Yip back and forth for a few weeks now and he did say that iOS app is still really shaky and does have a tendency to crash.
