We finally got our Elos 120xl display tank completed and we decided to go with the new Maxspect Razor. We compared this light to the AI Vega and the Ecotech Radion and it really impressed us. If your interested in the AI Vega Color, Ecotech Radion or Maxspect Razor come check them out. They are all setup on tanks in the store so you can compare them for yourself.

hey aaron,
what would you recommend for a 6ft tank? I am almost ready to buy the lights. I just need the money now.

How you doing Toan?

Are you thinking of using the Maxspect? The 20.5" are 120 watts and the 27" are 160 watts. You can use fewer of these lights compared to the Radion or Vega and the Maxspect has a full-spectrum including UV.

We have (3) of the 120watt units over this 47 x 31.5 x 20 tank. You could definitely get by with (4) on your tank if you put them the same way as we did. Since they have two LED clusters per light you will get good coverage from front to back. Let me know what you want to do, I've got them in stock and ready to be installed on your tank!

Wow looks great with them on. I stopped by with Cy after FRAG and the tank looked great but they were off. BUT your main display is out of this world! Ever though about going LED or partial LED over that one?

Yeah, originally we wanted to run LEDs with metal halides but there were not any lights that I liked at the time. Once the Radion pros come out we will probably use those with the 400w Radium MHs.

How controllable are the maxspect razors? Can you adjust the color temp? Moonlights?
The Razors are adjustable with two independent channels, one blue and one white. The blue and white channels can be programmed individually and you could also run just the blues at a low setting for moonlight. Also, the channels are adjustable from 0-100% in 1% increments.
