mp40 question

is it safe to put the rubber spacer on the wet side of the mp40 some of the padding is coming off and i dont want it to scratch the acrylic?? thanks. i put some a little aqueon silicone around the outside of the wet side but just curious if you can put the spacer instead

I wouldn't the spacer is also one of the main things that keeps the outside part from moving. Maybe if you had 2 spacers but even then you would provably need to reduce the size setting on the dry side for the thickness.

my tank is 3/4 so no spacer is required for the dry side

the ruber spacer that goes on the outside ??? i tought it needed it regardless of thickness ??? I might be wrong couse i know that thing keeps mine from moving. There kinda like a sticky rubber when it meats the glass. But like i said i might be wrong.

I think you are referring to the rubber gasket right? If so, I have to agree with Danny. You may want to put the rubber gasket on the outside as well. The pin space that goes on the outside has the little groove so that the rubber gasket is kinda flushed in place once you put it on to keep it from sliding off the glass. I won't say it doesn't work without it but I would be hesitant to not put the rubber gasket outside.
