My percs are similar. But I kind of have a dawn and dusk effect so once two sets of lights turn off then they go into the rbta.

percs and oce clowns do some dumb stuff...

how do these guys survive in the wild...? you put your huge scary arm in the tank, and you can touch them because they don't move...

i dunno... if i was like some reef predator fish, i would only dine on clown fish... just swim around with your mouth open and they'll just fall right in... don't even need to open your eyes...

mine do the same thing, and i have a bunch of btas so they alternate at night, they like to be out and about during the day i feel, instead of just chilling in an anemone 24/7

and i wouldn't say they're dumb gumbii, it's just normal habituation, when a certain behavior is repeated numerous times, they eventually will learn that it's no threat and not waste energy trying to avoid something that doesn't need avoiding. my clown fish are the same and they were afraid of me when i first put them in the tank, and they were tank bred, but now they're like dogs lol, following me around the tank waiting for food.

1. b/c there are not threats in there with him
...add some aggressive fish and he'll be in there more

2. b/c you feed him during the day
...positive reinforcement also works with fish
