just recently acquired my tank I have a couple coral that are doing awesome but a few day ago my leather started looking weird wut I thought was sheading but he hasn't bounced back so I wanted to post pics n you guys can tell me if its normal any help would be appreciated leather.jpg 20130923_185609.jpg

just did a water change last night temps at 78 salinity at 1.024 all tests came back great "average range" can post exact test results if needed thanks in advance im a newbie so everything is new to me

Give it some nice flow to help it shead its skin.. polyps should be back in no time shortly thereafter

I had the same issue a week or two ago. Mine looked all nasty, then after a couple weeks it was back and slightly larger.

Advice someone else gave me is that these things will be the last to die in your tank. (Looks like a Toadstool coral)

The previous owner had him for around 6 months. I bought the aquarium n set everything up since the move hes ben in that location in the tank for a lil over a month the previous owner had himfor a long time he just saturday started looking like this

I made the mistake and bought the api test kit and getting a precise number is a lil tought it looks like its at 0ppm but its kinda hard to distinguish between the 2 colors 0 and 0.25 but the color looks closer to 0

+1 for just waiting it out and increasing flow. Mine stayed closed for weeks without me doing anything. Then just popped up and started growing. I recently moved mine up in the tank to get more light and it likes it. If nothing else works in a week or so, move it up if possible

Most leathers are like that.
It takes a while for them to acclimate to the new tank, and after they they pretty much start a mission to take over the tank.
