I have a gyre 150 in my 120 gallons (4x2x2) I'm running at 50% but since my sps not showing extension I need more flow I trying to get 2 mp 40 and take down the gyre any suggestions here

I would leave the gyre on the left or right side, and add one MP40 on the back wall opposite side of the gyre.

Lack of extension could also be your water parameters, or a fish nipping as well.

nop no angels just yellow tang blue tang sailfin 3 wrasses 2 chromis 1 Midas blenny 2 cardenals 1 clown goby 2 clowns

The chromis could be nipping on the polyps.

What test kit did you check your po4 and no3 with? If no3 and po4 are truly at 0 then it might be lack of nutrients.

PS i run my no3 at 5ppm to 10ppm and po4 at .03-.06.

Hanna phosphate alk and calc Red Sea the rest with API

Lack of nutrients could make sps not have polyp extension. What is your bio load in your system? Try feeding more and lengthen your water changes. You xcan also try amino acids. hth

API for Nitrates with API is a big no no, I useto read 0 with API on Nitrates then switched to red sea and i was like at 15 ppm. Also what hanah checker regular Phosphate or ULR phosphorus ??? the regular one has an error reading of +-.04 so its no good for reef the ULR is the one you want..

Same issue on my nephew's tank but as soon as he took out the clown goby they got better, clown gobies like to sit on acros

Keep a closer look a your clown goby I bet it's him doing the nipping they look really cool sitting on the sps but the are nippers
