This is great news, but I'm gonna be pissed if I have to pay for it considering I bought the Gyre just a few months ago. I think stuff like this should have been addressed better during beta trials as opposed to after the product has been released. I hate to think that in less than six months there will be a new and improved gyre fixing all the old one's problems. But I guess that's how technology rolls.

The last portion leads me to believe that previous owners will be able to get also at a discount or free. I think it should be free but has not been confirmed.


The smaller Gyre XF130 already shipped with the new and improved soft magnet mount but early adopters of the XF150 will soon have the option of upgrading to the noise canceling mount – details about the upgrade program will be announced soon by CoralVue.

That's what I'm hoping! At the end of the article it says there will be an "upgrade program" to current owners. What that means, I don't know.

I saw that the new 130 has the new mount and I decided to wait until the 150s start shipping with them before I buy one. I don't want to get screwed with having to pay an upgrade cost for it.

I would think that even with dead silence in your shop you have more ambient noise from all your tanks than our lonesome tanks at home.

during the day i cannot hear it at all but at night when its just me staring at my tank with the moonlights i can hear it. its not loud anymore, im not complaining just saying i can hear it.


standing in front of my tank at 2-3am with only moonlights on in silence is probably my favorite part of this hobby. The peace of the water and corals swaying.
