I purchased this skimmer for my 150g because of the great price but also because I was extremely limited with funds, sump space (why I purchased an external skimmer), and stand space.
This perfectly fit my dimensions but I was worried that it wasnt going to skim enough on its own... When receiving it, I was forced to blow start the air pump every time the pump was shut off.
I eventually got a hold of the manufacturer and they sent me a new impeller immediately. That fixed that problem BUT...
I still was not skimming enough for my larger bio... and LARGE tank. I finally added a gate valve mod and that did the TRICK! I am now skimming like crazy and getting amazingly dark and gross skimmate!
This is a good skimmer for the price and if you have time to do the mods to it!
