That's a great idea jay. Maybe that way I can finally learn how to "grow like a pro"
Alot of input from you guys, if willing to share secrets, would be really helpful.
I'm just doing mine by trial and error.. And there's been a ton of errors. Lol

It's funny because a lot of us are doing this for the first time. I know at least me and dave don't have very much experience growing sps seems like it would be an easy win for those who have some experience at this

regarding the two different pic's... i think its safe to say that the first pic taken is the same coral as the second pic, the only differance is the quality of the camera. a iphone camera could never make a good pic. even for how crappy the second pic is i can still see the colors in it, just not a clear as the first pic.

i think if im not mistaken that the frag tank over there is under 2 400w MH bulbs. that could be why the colors are not as dark as some people may be thinking. for most of us our lower power lights will darken the color up more to a point. the color will change for everyone based off lights. that will be the fun part to see the results of so many peoples different tanks on the same coral. my buddy has an all natural out door grow out tank that grows coral like crazy but the colors fade. once he moves the coral into the indoors tank the colors come back nice and strong after a few weeks. he said he was thinking of joining so ill guess we will see if he dose.

Hopefully those 400w halides made the color visually fade. As I say again that is what my eyes saw. This pic is the same color I visually say. Maybe when we get some different color spectrum on it it will give us some color.

Grow like a pro....now there's an idea, and sharing some of those tips and tricks seems to be what a contest like this is all about. Everyone starting with the same type/size/color frag, and every system is different. I am looking forward to see what my tank can do with this grow out. This is going to be a great experience for me, as well as my whole family gets to see what our frag does.....and everyone else's.
Let us know when and where, and we are going to make this a family project. We will all be excited to pick up, and maybe get a chance to meet some new reefers!!
Thank you Mike for putting this together.

meet and greet... Sounds like for the ones that are local to the area we should all try to pickup our frag at the same time to meet the contestants in person?
