I'm planning on upgrading my 90 gallon and I'm trying to figure out the best and least expensive way of moving everything. The new tank is going in the same spot as the current tank. Should I just break it down and set it up in another place until the new tank cycles? The problem is some equipment is going to the new tank so I'm trying to think of a way to put all the corals in a "mickey mouse" frag tank while the new tank cycles. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Drain the old tank down and move it out of the way. Put the water you drained out back in the old tank and keep it running while you set up the new tank. Use new sand in the new setup. Fill the new tank half way up with the old tank water. Add your live rock and corals to the new tank. Fill the new tank up the rest of the way with new water. Careful to avoid disturbing the old sand bed throughout the process. You shouldn't even see a cycle, maybe a tiny one.

Thanks Dan. Sounds easy enough. Fingers crossed.
