Do Sched 40 & Sched 80 play nice together? I have a Sched 80 gate valve but am plumbing in sched 40. I'll need an adapter but I want to make sure it'll work.

I have other questions but lets get these done one by one.

they work fine together. the difference is only in the pressure they're rated for (and tubing wall thickness). for our tanks, the capability difference is literally inconsequential.

Awesome!

Okay next question...

Any good ideas for going from 1.5" PVC to 3/4" or 1/2"?

They do fine the only issue is the 80 is smaller id and more restrictive. No need to have them in an aquarium system. The gate valve really shouldn't be an issue though

Anyone know of a good plumbing supply place in or around Long Beach? I need a place that will carry all the pieces that lowes/home depot won't.

I buy a lot of plumbing products from flexpvc.com he has really hard to find stuff and ships fast. If I order on a Monday it is in my hands before the next weekend usually by Thursday.

Chance of Coral, they can get you what you need...
Believe me, they're part of the plan. I just want to find the more non-aquarium related type fittings locally if I can. Mostly I need to see them to finish the design details. I have very little plumbing experience so figuring out how things will fit isn't easy at this point.

For reactors or the return?
Yeah, the outletson the manifold will go to either 3/4" or 1/2" gate valves. I'm trying to find fittings that will take me from 1.5" down to that in a slip/slip or slip/thread

Thanks I'll check them out.

What do you need that lowes or HD won't have? I got my gate valves at OSH. But for the most part I just draw a diagram and then stand in ace hardware for an hour.... Then go back 2-3 times after I have forgotten something or purchased the wrong **** =]

This is what I need to do...I just need to play with the fittings and pipe.

You should be able to go from that 1.5" to 3/4" or 1/2" with one or two fittings that you can probably find at Home Depot
I've already looked...no dice. I also don't have a ton of space so something with too many fittings isn't going to do it.

hey Omar, if you can't find the fitting at the HD off of atlantic/405, you may want to try the HD in signal hill at Cherry and Willow.

I've found that they carry slightly different stock. like, 1" slip unions, i could find at Signal hill, but not the one off atlantic.

Common Omar... its not rocket science... I got all my stuff at home depot... what are you plumbing that's going from 1.5 to 3/4 or 1/2... all the return plumbing should be 1in or 3/4in.

Your drains shouldn't be reduced at all and should be the easiest part to plumb... call me or text me
