I want to make a fake rock wall insert for my new 30 gal tank using those foam spray cans in the pond and garden section at Lowes. The label says its fish safe but wonder if it's coral safe? I think I saw someone on here did something similar but not sure where he got his foam spray can at. Any ideas?

I just did a ton of research on this and am in the process of doing it for my new tank (got all the rock laid out and will start foaming today or tomorrow). If it says pond safe, you can use it. Are you doing the epoxy/sand step too?

No I'm just using some eggcrate for backing and spraying the foam on. I have used these on my koi pond but the big question is it safe for corals including sps? Sometimes fish safe doesn't mean coral safe...

Well, like I said I did a ton of research on this already and yes, it's safe; but you can always do your own research on it if you're still worried. Google is your friend.

From what I've seen on here and other forums thats the stuff they have all used for rockwalls. Everyone uses the black or grey pond foam for it so I would say yes
