Tank is just about done cycling so I’m getting to add some livestock.

Looking into captive bred fish. Planning to order it directly from the breeder.

Do i still need to QT them?

Im limited on space to set up a QT tank thats all.

Captive Bred fish still should be QTd still prone to all the parasites and diseases.

You will probably be ok but always a chance.

I think you’d be fine if you order directly from the state side ones

I don’t think I’d trust biota brs ryan said they raise fish in sea pens in the ocean so they’d be no different than wild caught fish. But they wouldn’t go through the wholesale system so they’d still probably be safer than most fish

i qt literally everything and tbh it kinda kills the fun of the hobby so I think that should be mentioned. But it’s the safest way to go you just have to decide for yourself if the juice is worth the squeeze

Great deal

From here, you could always just observe for a couple weeks so you don’t invest in the medicines upfront.

If your are going to have more than just a few fish I would 100% quarantine all incoming fish. One fish can ruin it all. In my old tank I had plenty of fish that were doing great for years, I added one new ”healthy” looking fish, and within 48 hours I lost a purple tang, chevron tang, sail fin tang, and a few wrasse.

just make sure you carefully monitor ammonia with a qt tank that is only 10 gallons, it is much easier to overload a tank that small. You should only have 1-2 fish in it at a time in my opinion..
