So on the the 31st in the wee hours of the morning I was bagging and packing up my corals to take to somebody else's tank for them to babysit while I move... I normally dose 2 teaspoons of a soda ash every night but I figured that since I removed most of my SPS and about half of my LPS, my consumption would be much much less. I was in OC for 2 days and got home around 2am on the 2nd. I checked my alk then and it had dropped from 8 to 6.7 and that was even after replacing about 3g of water that I used to acclimate a fish with new water made with RSCP which has a really high alk level. So over the past few days I've been trying to increase it slowly but I am now back up to my same dose of 2 teaspoons that I was at when my tank was fully stocked. I'm down 49 corals now... how could my tank still be consuming the same amount of alk???
