Anyone have any recommendations on a good temp controller?

I've been lucky to not have any issues with any heaters malfunctioning but with the temperatures getting colder and the heater more in use, I want to make this purchase now.

Thanks in advance!

If you're the DIY type, lots of videos on YouTube on how to make a dual temp controller. Search for inkbird it cost me about $40 total, controls heater and fan. Otherwise I recommend buying a used reefkeeper, a little more than the ranco but with lots more options.

You don't have a controller? If budget is an issue, I'd go with the Ranco or a Reef Keeper Lite.

For what ud probably spend in a ranco ud be better off as cody said getting an actual controller not to mention you can add to it later on down the line to further control your tank.

Yep. That's why I dropped the $40 for the one in that thread that's much nicer. Same unit and philosophy, but looks terrific!

Shutting down frag tank that I have running. Have apex jr with pm1 module if you're in the market for a controller :)

So I've been talking to Jacob at ReefSafe Solutions (http://reefsafesolutions.com/products) and he's getting ready to make more temperature controller units, possibly ready to ship this week.

The difference between the old version and the newer version is as follows:

"Regarding any differences from the previous version, we've only changed the look and layout a bit. It's in a slimmer enclosure now, with the safety switch on the front of the enclosure by the temperature display. The functionality will all remain the same. The back also has a wider space between each outlet for more flexibility. The old enclosure was 4.7"x4.7"x2.5" and the new enclosure is 5.1"x5.3"x1.5". So it is a bit wider, which allows for the increased space between each outlet, but we felt the improvement in overall design and layout made up for the wider size. It is a much sleeker design. We've also made the sensor probe replaceable, in case of sensor failure down the line (which I've never experienced in over two years)."

He's planning to sell for $50 + $6 shipping. I will most likely place an order soon if anyone wants to split shipping around Tustin.

I've also asked about group pricing and if there's 10 units ordered, 10% off will be applied. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Roger
