I got a Maxi-Mini that has it's foot in a rock crevice but I need to remove it and put it into another tank. How, if even possible, would I go about removing it?
hmm so that is how you move them. Thanks for the helpful info guys! Somebody said said about putting them a toothpick to make them stayat a rock. Is that safe?
To remove them you're going to have to chip the rock off if they dont come off easy. If it's a smooth rock you can try to peel it off but if it's firmly attached you're better off breaking the rock than try to get the anemone off. The foot will tear before it'll let go.
You can use the toothpick method (similar to xenia) but if the maxi mini is not in a correct spot (as far as lighting and flow) they will simply melt. So make sure it's an appropriate spot before forcing it to stay there.
+1 to point a power head at the maxi mini. any of my maxi mini that are in an area of high water flow end up moving to another area of the rock.
i dont really advise this but you can also try to nudge (do this lightly) his foot area with your finger nail to get him to release his hold... if the maxi mini starts spitting out his "guts" (like some spiraly looking stuff) please stop. that means he is pissed off.
